Warehouse Manager:

This position is responsible for performing a variety of administrative Shipping and Receiving tasks.

Responsibilities will include the following:

• Verify that materials received are as ordered
• Coordinate shipping of incoming and outgoing product with customers and carriers.
• Route incoming items to appropriate departments/locations
• Prepare items for shipment ensuring cost effective courier services
• Lead the work of Shipping and Receiving personnel performing related work

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare shipments for postal or commercial conveyance; determine the most economical and efficient shipping method; select appropriate shipping container, and pack items to ensure safe delivery.
• Prepare bills of lading; check items to be shipped against work orders to ascertain that quantities, destination, and routing are correct.
• Receive and unload incoming materials and compare information on packing slip with purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment; may process return shipments from customers.
• Sort, count, package, label, unpack, ensure accuracy and/or log inventory which is shipped or received.
• Inspect shipments for damage or defects, record discrepancies or damages and notify supervisor and/or purchasing personnel
• Deliver items to requisitioning departments and obtain authorized signatures for accepted items.
• Trace lost shipments and/or customer claims of lost shipments, and initiate proof of delivery documents.
• Maintain department database, prepare routine reports, and file shipping/receiving records.
• May operate dolly, pallet jack, and/or forklift in loading and unloading supplies and equipment; may operate shrink-wrap machine; may operate company vehicle to deliver shipments; may assist in routine maintenance of equipment and shipping area; may lock warehouse and set alarms.
• Follow established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infectious control standards.
• Lead, guide, and train employees performing related work.
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

• * High School Diploma ; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

• Ability to maintain quality, safety, and other BBI Control Standards
• Ability to read and write and do basic math
• Ability to understand and follow safety procedures
• Ability to receive, track, and distribute materials, supplies, and equipment
• Knowledge of light equipment operation and/or maintenance
• Ability to lead and train staff.
• Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork
• Ability to read, sort, check, count, and verify numbers
• Ability to detect problems and report information to appropriate
• Ability to receive, stock, and/or deliver goods.
• Knowledge of postal or commercial shipping methods and procedures
• Must have excellent computer skills and proficiency with MSOffice suite of applications.
