CNC Machine OperatorA Day In The LifePerforms any assembly-type functions, using hand or power toolsSet up and Operate 3 and 5 axis CNC milling centers and CNC lathesAdjusts, trim and fitting parts to close tolerancesFollows visual aids (standard work) to ensure work is correctMake up cartons, print labels, insert protective packing material, seal finishing productMeet efficiency ratesPerform quality checks to ensure quality specifications are metReports defective materials or questionable conditionsMaintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition - 5SMust be flexible to rotate job assignments within various work cellsPerforms related duties as assigned by supervisionWork within all safety guidelines and wear all required PPEPerform quality checks to ensure quality specifications are meantSetup, layout and operate various CNC lathes and/or millsReads blueprint or job order for product specifications and tool instructionsSelects, positions, and secures tool in tool holderPositions and secures work piece in holding device, machine table, chuck, centers or fixturesMoves controls to position tool and work piece in relation to each other, and to set specified feeds, speeds and depth of cut1st piece inspection (check first piece/pieces per blueprints and BOMs)Observes operation of machine and verifies conformity of machined work piece to specificationsRequires ability to read blueprints and precision measuring equipment such as micrometers and calipersKeeps work area clean and orderlyDiscusses errors in diagrams or production order with supervisor or engineer to clarify assembly problemsHubbell IncorporatedHubbell creates critical infrastructure solutions that power our customers, communities, people and the planet.
