The Notre Dame Police Department is a full-service police department recognized by the State of Indiana with the authority to enforce Indiana State Laws, make arrests, and conduct criminal investigations. Non-certified applicants considered for hire will be required but not limited to the above including written comprehension testing as well as a physical agility test that mirrors the State of Indiana’s testing process. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: 21 years of age High School Diploma or GED Valid vehicle Operator License Ability to communicate effectively with various constituencies Ability to supervise and adapt to rapidly changing situations, making appropriate decisions under stressful circumstances Must maintain strong customer service focus even in difficult policing situations Must meet minimum standards regarding acceptance for training by the Indiana Law Enforcement Training Board as specified in Indiana Administrative Code Title 250 Rule 3 Preferred Qualifications: College Degree Tier I Certified Police Officer or the equivalent Additional Information Starting Rate: $31.50/hr The University of Notre Dame seeks to attract, develop, and retain the highest quality faculty, staff and administration.
