Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a Level IV NICU position at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital, requiring RRT certification and a minimum of 2 years NICU or combined adult critical care/NICU experience.

Details

• Level IV NICU setting with willingness to also work Adult floor and ICU units as needed
• Works with neonatal/pediatric patients including high-risk deliveries, Bubble CPAP, ECMO, and oscillating ventilators
• Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Weekend shifts required as needed by the unit
• Floating within the hospital required, no floating to sister facilities
• On-call not required
• Uses Epic charting system
• Magnet-designated teaching hospital with 637 staffed beds
• Scrubs of any color accepted, OR personnel provided scrubs

Requirements

• Active RRT certification required
• BLS and NRP certifications required
• ACLS and PALS certifications preferred
• Washington State Respiratory license required if applicable
• Minimum 2 years of experience in critical care, which may be Adult critical care and NICU combined, or NICU (Level III/IV) alone
• Adult-only RRT experience does not meet requirement
• Teaching hospital experience required
• LTAC and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Experience with neonatal/pediatric procedures including intubation assist, high frequency jet ventilation, and neonatal transports
• Skilled in ventilator management, arterial blood gas interpretation, and airway management/suctioning
• Experience with Servo U ventilator and NICU Level IV work history

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory therapy care to neonatal, pediatric, and adult critical care patients as assigned
• Participate in high-risk delivery response and neonatal transports
• Work collaboratively within a Level IV NICU care team at a teaching hospital
• COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
• First-time travelers accepted
• RTO limited to a maximum of 1 week, with restrictions during the first 2 weeks of assignment
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Prior UW staff must have 18 months separation before returning as a travel candidate
