Rheumatology Physician – Independent Practice (Ownership Model) This independent practice opportunity is for physicians who want to run their own rheumatology practice while receiving operational support from MedCBO. Physicians maintain full clinical authority and ownership of their medical practice; MedCBO provides non‑clinical business and operational support services. Overview This posting is for physicians interested in establishing or transitioning into an independently operated medical practice supported by MedCBO’s administrative infrastructure. Physicians own and operate their own practice entity, governed by state licensure and regulatory requirements. MedCBO does not direct patient care. Physician Responsibilities Provide rheumatology care within the physician’s specialty scope Develop professional relationships within the medical community Coordinate payer credentialing and clinical service offerings Determine clinical services offered and manage clinical quality and patient experience Administrative Support Provided by MedCBO Practice formation coordination Billing and collections management Payer contract negotiation Financial infrastructure and reporting Operational workflows and staffing systems Technology platform and implementation Requirements MD or DO with unrestricted license in good standing in the intended state of practice Board Certified or Board Eligible in a rheumatology specialty appropriate to the clinical services provided Eligible for hospital and/or facility privileges where applicable Ability to obtain professional liability coverage at standard market rates No current limitations, exclusions, or disciplinary restrictions that would prevent independent practice Interest in the independent practice model Preferred Desire for practice ownership Community‑based care interest Leadership or program development interest Location Multiple U.S. markets available (urban, suburban, and rural).
