Technical Project Manager

What to Expect The Technical Project Manager role at Tesla involves driving hardware development by managing the execution of new hardware projects, validation, industrialization, and design improvements. This position supports the Engineering team by organizing and tracking schedules and metrics for active hardware projects, acting as the central owner for specific hardware subsystems. The TPM collaborates with Global Sourcing, Supplier Industrialization, and Tesla suppliers to meet production demands and resolve risks to schedules, while also working with cross-functional teams like Design Studio, Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, NPI, Production, and Service to establish program cadence and ensure successful global implementation across Tesla factories in Fremont, Texas, Shanghai, and Berlin. Requiring strong technical skills, the TPM engages in technical reviews, testing, and validation planning, with a working understanding of design, manufacturing, assembly, and associated risks. The role focuses on overseeing the launch of new designs and technologies, particularly for Audio, Antenna, and/or Radio systems from concept to mass production, defining workflows, timelines, risk assessments, and mitigation plans, while fostering collaboration, driving technical excellence, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing efficient solutions to meet business objectives.
