Associate Manager, Strategic Sourcing (Ocean Freight and LCL Ocean) Full-time Compensation: USD 110000 - USD 118000 - yearly In this individual contributor role you report directly to the Senior Manager, Global Procurement. You will develop and own high‑level cross‑functional interactions with key stakeholders and manage strategic partnerships globally. You will be responsible for certain logistics categories, strategies and projects related to Ocean Freight, LCL Ocean, and other key logistics sourcing. Key responsibilities include executing sourcing strategies with a strong emphasis on identifying, analyzing, and quantifying opportunities; managing RFIs, RFQs, RFPs; handling vendor negotiations and contract management; and leading cross‑functional teams to drive cost, quality, service, technology, and innovation efficiencies. Functional areas will include, but are not limited to, Ocean Freight, Ocean LCL, and other logistics sourcing. The Team The Global Supply Chain Organization is a competitive advantage for Mattel. The Opportunity The Associate Manager will be assigned by the Senior Manager to certain logistics categories and projects, guided by high‑level strategy. You will own category strategies for LCL Ocean and other logistics categories, develop full‑cycle sourcing initiatives (RFI/RFQ/RFP), and collaborate with a cross‑functional Integrated Sourcing Team to develop RFP documents, contract boilerplates, and performance tracking. What Your Impact Will Be Support the Senior Manager in Global Ocean Freight sourcing initiatives through market insights and analytics. Manage day‑to‑day communications with internal and external parties, forecast processes, and supplier relationship management. Own and develop category strategies for LCL Ocean and other credentials, grounding them in data, forecasts, and stakeholder needs. Lead full‑cycle sourcing initiatives (RFI/RFQ/RFP) across the globe for LCL Ocean and NA projects—managing strategy, execution, vendor selection, and contract closeout. Collaborate with Finance and Logistics to forecast annual category spend, align cost assumptions, and reconcile actual spend against financial targets. Share best practices with the Global Procurement Logistics team to drive synergies and improve effectiveness. Review current and new contracts with Legal/Risk Management to ensure business protection and identify procurement risks and opportunities. What We’re Looking For Minimum 3‑5 years of relevant professional experience. BA/BS in Business, Finance, Operations, or Supply Chain preferred. Proven ability to learn and execute independently. Superior analytical, problem‑solving, and financial modeling skills. Strong track record of building internal and external relationships and influencing teams. Ability to collaborate in a team environment and interact with employees at all levels. Demonstrated growth mindset through continuous learning and improvement. Preferred Skills CPM or similar certification CPG background Coupa/CSO/Oracle/Infor Nexus systems management Experience presenting to senior management Willingness to travel up to 10% Experience developing contract terms with Legal *The pay range is indicative of projected hiring range; base pay will be determined based on location, skills, and experience.
