Student Success Coach

Position Description

Pay Grade: Specialist 8 The Student Success Coach is responsible for promoting a positive and successful learning experience for students to increase student retention, success, and completion.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of and commitment to the application of the highest standards of legal and ethical principles Knowledge of and ability to follow college policies and procedures Knowledge of current technologies and virtual communication platforms, presentation creation, and web-based applications Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office, Ellucian (Colleague), and WebAdvisor Knowledge of college student development, educational advising, and retention practices Ability to multi-task and organize, prioritize, and follow multiple projects and tasks through to completion with an attention to detail Ability to relate to a diverse population and to maintain composure when faced with difficult situations Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment Ability to work on multiple campuses, as needed Ability to communicate with student via various methods (face to face, phone, email, virtual, and text based communication) Well-developed written and oral communication skills Ability to travel locally between campuses as needed Requirements: Bachelor's degree One year of experience providing advising, counseling, academic coaching, or retention support in a college setting or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
