About the Company

Our client is a food manufacturer running a large production facility in Cudahy, Wisconsin, with maintenance responsibility spanning the plant, facilities, utilities and powerhouse.

The Role

The 3rd shift Maintenance Supervisor leads the maintenance teams responsible for installation, repair and preventive maintenance of all critical equipment across the plant, facilities, utilities and powerhouse. You will keep product flows and production lines running at their peak and contribute directly to the performance of the facility.

What You Will Do

• Lead 3rd shift teams of Maintenance Mechanics and Electricians in predictive and preventive maintenance and machine repairs.
• Train employees on proper work methods and safety procedures.
• Supervise and support maintenance systems, processes and documentation to keep performance high.
• Schedule maintenance in a timely way and in collaboration with Production to address equipment and facility repairs.
• Develop and implement effective maintenance systems, including preventive and predictive maintenance, TPM, SOPs and safety programs.
• Provide long-term solutions and day-to-day support for troubleshooting, problem analysis and equipment failures.
• Develop and maintain KPIs for maintenance performance (supplier and contractor performance, equipment reliability, overall equipment effectiveness) and provide regular status reports to maintenance management.
• Ensure maintenance work complies with USDA regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance work performed and inventory.
• Drive a positive employee experience through development and coaching.

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field and 2+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience acting as a lead: training, coaching or mentoring less experienced staff, or managing a process or project
• Ability to lead problem-solving and troubleshooting for high-level process issues
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Food manufacturing or similar industry background
• Strong electro-mechanical skill set
• Strong root cause analysis background
• Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Nice to Have

• Ammonia refrigeration background
• Advanced technical skills in ammonia refrigeration, high-pressure boilers, compressed air, and mechanical and electrical systems (PLCs, instrumentation, mechanical engineering), with the ability to lead resource planning in a large manufacturing environment
• Thorough knowledge of maintenance systems, work order processes, preventive/predictive maintenance, TPM, and inventory and scheduling software
• Strong leadership skills: conflict resolution, facilitation, change management, decision making, empowerment and delegation
• Good planning and priority-setting skills
• Bilingual
