Step into a rewarding role supporting young learners in a preschool autism Special Day Class (SDC) setting. This contract position offers an immediate start through the end of the school year, providing the chance to make a daily impact in a nurturing educational environment. Work closely with educators and specialists to foster a supportive, engaging atmosphere for students with diverse abilities.

What we’re looking for:

• Previous experience as a paraprofessional, particularly in school-based roles
• Familiarity with early childhood education and autism spectrum disorders
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families
• Patience, creativity, and adaptability in classroom settings
• Commitment to building trusting relationships with students and supporting their goals

Key responsibilities:

• Assist lead teachers in implementing classroom activities and individualized supports
• Provide one-on-one or small group assistance to preschoolers with autism
• Foster a safe, positive environment that encourages engagement and independence
• Reinforce learning and behavior plans as established by the educational team
• Help with classroom organization, materials preparation, and transitions between activities
• Contribute to open, respectful communication with all team members
