Embedded Software Engineer

Job Title: Embedded Software Engineer Location: Allen Park, MI Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware for microcontroller-based lighting and projector modules. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Embedded C/C++, automotive software development practices, and hands‑on experience with communication protocols and hardware interfacing. The role involves close collaboration with hardware, systems, and validation teams throughout the product development lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain embedded firmware using C/C++ for microcontroller-based lighting and projector systems. Design and implement software for peripherals such as SPI, I2C, UART, PWM, ADC, and GPIO interfaces. Interface with LED drivers, projector components, and support pixel-level control functionality. Collaborate with hardware engineers to understand schematics, support board bring‑up activities, and troubleshoot hardware/software integration issues. Develop and support CAN communication stacks and diagnostic services; exposure to UDS diagnostics is preferred. Perform software unit testing, integration testing, debugging, and issue resolution. Participate in software architecture, design reviews, and code reviews. Follow Automotive SPICE (ASPICE) compliant software development processes. Work with AUTOSAR-based software architecture and integration activities. Required Qualifications experience in embedded software development. Strong programming skills in Embedded C and C++. Experience with automotive embedded systems and microcontroller programming. Hands‑on experience with communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, PWM, and ADC. Working knowledge of AUTOSAR architecture and embedded software components. Understanding of ASPICE software development processes and lifecycle management. Experience in board bring‑up, hardware debugging, and firmware validation. Familiarity with debugging tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG debuggers. Experience with source control systems such as Git. Preferred Qualifications Experience with automotive lighting, projector modules, or LED control systems. Knowledge of UDS (Unified Diagnostic Services) and automotive diagnostics. Familiarity with bootloaders, RTOS, and low‑level driver development. Experience with model‑based development tools is a plus.
