Job Summary

The Project Manager coordinates the activities required to successfully manage assigned customer accounts and projects from initial commitment or purchase order through production, delivery, and ongoing customer support. The Project Manager serves as a key point of contact for both the customer and internal teams and is responsible for ensuring customer requirements, inventory needs, production priorities, quality expectations, and delivery commitments are clearly understood and effectively managed.

A significant focus of this position is the ongoing analysis of customer orders, demand, inventory, and future supply requirements. The Project Manager regularly reviews ERP data and develops reports to understand current and projected inventory positions, identify potential shortages or excess inventory, and support timely purchasing and production decisions.

This position requires an individual who is highly analytical and comfortable working with large amounts of data. The successful candidate will be proficient with Microsoft Excel and ERP systems and capable of extracting, organizing, analyzing, and presenting operational information for both internal decision-making and customer reporting.

The Project Manager works closely with Sales, Procurement, Manufacturing, Engineering, Scheduling, Quality, Shipping and other team members to resolve issues, manage priorities, and meet customer expectations.

Essential Job Function

THIS IS AN ONSITE POSITION IN MOODY, AL

• Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned customers and coordinate customer inquiries, requests, orders, and program requirements.
• Review customer orders, forecasts, releases, and other demand information for accuracy and changes in requirements.
• Regularly analyze current inventory, open customer demand, incoming supply, and projected inventory positions.
• Identify potential inventory shortages, excess inventory, order discrepancies, and supply risks before they impact customer requirements.
• Use data and sound business judgment to recommend purchasing, production, inventory, and order-management actions.
• Develop and maintain reports used to monitor inventory, customer demand, incoming supply, order status, and other key program information.
• Prepare and communicate reporting for both internal management and external customers.
• Extract, organize, and analyze information from the company's ERP system and other data sources.
• Coordinate activities and priorities across Sales, Procurement, Manufacturing, Engineering, Scheduling, Quality, Shipping and Receiving.
• Assign and coordinate project tasks, establish timelines, monitor progress, and follow issues through completion.
• Facilitate communication of critical issues affecting customer requirements, including engineering, purchasing, production, scheduling, customer-furnished items, quality, inventory, and delivery.
• Coordinate and facilitate project and customer meetings as required.
• Monitor and communicate quality, shipping, receiving, and production information.
• Review and coordinate customer or project change requests and communicate their operational impact.
• Investigate discrepancies involving customer orders, inventory, purchasing, production, and shipments and coordinate corrective action.
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting, data visibility, inventory management, and internal processes.
• Maintain strong working relationships with customers and internal team members.
• Report to work regularly and on time.

Job Requirements

Basic Qualifications

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the ability to analyze and manipulate large data sets.
• Experience using ERP or MRP systems to research orders, inventory, purchasing, production, and related operational information.
• Ability to analyze customer demand, inventory, and supply information and make sound, data-driven recommendations.
• Ability to develop clear and useful reports for internal management and external customers.
• Ability to recognize trends, discrepancies, and potential problems within operational data.
• Strong attention to detail and a process-oriented approach to work.
• Ability to manage multiple customer requirements, projects, and priorities simultaneously.
• Exemplary written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate clearly with poise and confidence.
• Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with customers and team members across multiple departments.
• Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings, job specifications, and related manufacturing documentation.
• Working knowledge of basic mathematical calculations and units of measure.
• High level of integrity, accountability, initiative, and follow-through.

  Preferred Skills & Experience

• Experience in project management, customer program management, supply chain, inventory management, production planning, or a related manufacturing role.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, lookup functions, conditional formulas, filtering, sorting, and analysis of large data sets.
• Experience with inventory planning, MRP, demand planning, purchasing, or production planning.
• Experience creating inventory, order, supply-chain, or customer-facing reports from ERP data.
• Experience creating business intelligence reporting requirements and/or developing reports directly from business systems.
• Experience with Microsoft Access, Power Query, Power BI, SQL, or similar data and reporting tools is a plus.
