Insurance Coverage/Insurance Litigation Associate – San Francisco, CA Wilson Elser’s San Francisco office is hiring an Insurance Coverage/Insurance Litigation Associate to join a collaborative team of experienced attorneys in California and across the United States. Position Highlights Flexible hybrid or remote work available. Responsibilities Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, legal memoranda, and other legal documents Attend court hearings, depositions, and mediations Collaborate effectively with colleagues across departments and offices, contributing to a cohesive and supportive team environment Investigate claims and draft coverage opinion letters In coverage litigation matters, draft pleadings, motions, and handle discovery Provide clients with insurance coverage advice on a variety of subjects Communicate with clients and provide status reports Qualifications JD from an ABA accredited law school Admitted to practice in the State of California 2–8 years of defense litigation experience 1+ year of coverage/coverage litigation experience Experience drafting coverage opinions in one or more insurance lines (CGL, property, professional liability, cyber, intellectual property, etc.) Experience in either or both third‑party or first‑party claims Coverage analysis and writing experience Experience drafting discovery and pretrial motions required Experience cross‑examining plaintiffs and other fact witnesses preferred Experience handling court appearances, depositions, and trial experience a plus Trial experience a plus Superior analytical skills Strong written and oral communication skills Compensation Salary range: $155,000 – $210,000 USD. Full‑time position with discretionary bonuses and benefits including 401(k) retirement savings plan, medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance.
