About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: 2 years required License: Active compact license required Certifications: BLS, FHM, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate, ACLS (preferred) Must-Have: First-time travelers accepted Epic experience required Description: This position is for a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse. Travelers are required to work 1 of 3 designated holidays. The unit features a welcoming environment with great staff camaraderie. Candidates must have 2 years of experience. All staff members support each other through book clubs and group dinners. Nurses will attend all deliveries, including high-risk deliveries. Patient diagnoses primarily include labor and preterm labor. The facility has 8 labor rooms and 4 triage rooms. Nurses will circulate, scrub, and provide care for OB-GYN and post-operative patients. A staffing ratio of 1:1 to 1:3 is in place. Travelers may float to postpartum based on skill set. Candidates must have experience in administering medications and monitoring patients. Familiarity with the use of blood and blood products is required. Nurses must be able to assess and manage pain effectively. Experience in high-risk deliveries and the use of various medical equipment is necessary. Participation in teaching and patient education is expected. All required certifications must be complete before starting the position.
