Maintenance TechnicianThe Maintenance Technician supports operation, inspection, and maintenance processes to mechanical, electrical and plumbing equipment and systems in assigned facilities. Performs inspections and repairs to assigned property interior and exterior areas, including walls and flooring, installed fixtures, roofing systems, lighting, etc.Essential Job Functions:Travel to different site locationsComply with all safety procedures, maintaining good housekeeping and safety of work areasRecognize danger and safety hazards and propose methods to eliminate themMaintains a clean and safe work environment and maintain compliance to State, County, or City Ordinances, Codes, or LawsComplies with all policies for the safe storage, usage and disposal of hazardous materialsRespond effectively to all emergenciesStrong focus on customer service and creating positive interactions with team and clientsMaintain lighting system bulbs and ballastsAssist the operations team in the maintenance and repair of building and equipmentPerform general interior maintenance - hang pictures, repair office furniture systems, minor plumbingWorks well with outside vendorsPerform outside maintenance of grounds, including snow removal by hand and by equipmentResponsible for emergency response after hours to report/assist with alarm system via medical fridge/freezer alerts and building alarm systemsNeeds to be comfortable with building operations programs that control HVAC systems and boilers, daily checks and adjustments via computer or physical location as requiredCompletes special tasks that include but are not limited to; painting, locksmith work, tenant services requests, and general maintenance as assignedMoves office furniture, machinery, equipment and other materials as requestedPerform assigned facility inspections and due diligence efforts, reporting on as found conditions impacting satisfactory client occupancy and operationsParticipate in ongoing technical, safety, and operational process training programsDocuments work performance and materials procurement as directed, using work order systemAbility to communicate status of work activity and identify methods to perform activities safely, effectively, and efficientlyOther assigned operational tasks as may be typically expected of a facility maintenance professionalOther duties as assignedPhysical Job Requirements:Candidates must be comfortable lifting up to 50 pounds, and with climbing on laddersPushing and Pulling, taking frequency into considerationPhysical mobility, which includes movement from place to place on the job, taking distance and speed into accountPhysical agility, which includes ability to maneuver body while in placeDexterity of hands and fingersEndurance (e.g. continuous typing, prolonged standing/bending, walking)Balance is maintained during climbing, bending and/or reachingEnvironmental Risks:Allergens: dust, mold and/or pollenCombative Patients / VisitorEducation, Certification, Computer and Training Requirements:High School Graduate/GED requiredCompletion of an applicable technical training program is desirable, have a minimum of three years of applicable working experience in general building repair and maintenance, basic plumbing, and basic electricalCandidates must possess mechanical and electrical aptitude, and have excellent communication skills, both oral and writtenAbility to communicate in English, both orally and in writing requiredSuccessful candidate must be self-motivated who can work independently or on a teamStrong multi-tasking, organizing & priority setting required (multiple projects can be open at one time)Certifications in applicable skills preferredExperience with Standard Office Equipment (Phone, Fax, Copy Machine, Scanner, Email/Voice Mail) preferredExperience with Microsoft Office Technology in a Window based environment preferredThis is a non exempt position and pays in the range of $25.00 - $28.53 depending on experienceThis is a union position which will include the Summit Health complete benefits package, shift differential, wage increases and other provisions per the union contract. Schedule: Full-time employees will be forty (40) hours, five (5) days, eight hours per day, plus a thirty (30) minute unpaid meal break. Said regular work schedule shall be five consecutive days. The employer retains the right to assign a facility technician weekly to work Tuesday through Saturday or Sunday through Thursday as the employee's regular work schedule. Employees may either be scheduled for 8:00am to 4:30pm shift or to the 4:00pm to 12:30am shift. After 90 days of onboarding, an employee may be scheduled for a rotating schedule and/or on-call time to include nights and weekends.
