- Conduct thorough evaluations on patients of all age groups using both standardized tests and observational assessments.
- Craft custom treatment strategies that target immediate objectives as well as long-term communication, cognition, and swallowing challenges.
- Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions focused on language, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing techniques.
- Engage collaboratively with physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, and families to forge integrated care plans.
- Provide educational support to patients and families to enhance progress outside of therapy sessions.
- Occasionally carry out inpatient speech therapy evaluations to facilitate seamless care throughout the treatment journey.
- Maintain precise and timely documentation in accordance with state, federal, and organizational standards.
- Stay informed of the latest advancements in speech therapy through ongoing education and professional networking.
- A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) for candidates who are not yet ASHA-certified.
- Licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist in the state.
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of joining.
- Expertise in evidence-based practices across the lifespan, with a solid grasp of developmental and acquired communication and swallowing disorders.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills for fostering positive relationships with patients, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Flexibility to adapt therapy methods to cater to a wide range of cultural and linguistic needs.
- Strong clinical judgment paired with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records and adhering to documentation protocols.
