Patent Agent with Semiconductor Experience

Job Overview A law firm seeks a Patent Agent with semiconductor experience for its Dallas, TX office. This role involves performing complex client work, including drafting patent applications and responses to the USPTO, and supporting attorneys in delivering efficient legal services. Duties Prepare draft patent applications incorporating scientific aspects of inventions. Draft responses to communications from U.S. and foreign patent offices. Discuss scientific aspects of inventions with clients and inventors. Act as liaison between inventors and the Patent & Trademark Office. Evaluate and report on technological aspects of inventions. Advise attorneys on technologies and investigate as needed. Organize, analyze, and summarize documents. Communicate with staff, clients, vendors, and agency personnel. Organize and prioritize tasks under time constraints. Identify and solve complex patent issues. Provide guidance to legal support staff. Stay updated on technology trends and make recommendations. Requirements Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, material engineering, physics, chemical engineering, or related field. Licensed to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office preferred. At least 3 years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution in the semiconductor industry. Strong investigative and problem resolution skills. Advanced oral and written communication skills. Ability to manage confidential information. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse individuals. Knowledge of patent documentation standards. Ability to organize and prioritize tasks efficiently. Proficiency in using various software packages. Education Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field. Certifications USPTO registration preferred.
