As a Registered Nurse at St. David's North Austin Medical Center, you’ll have the support, technology, and resources needed to deliver safe, high‑quality care so you can focus on patient care. Responsibilities Assess patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after intervention. Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Document care in the patient medical record promptly and thoroughly. Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate needs to resolve them proactively. Teach patients/families/caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, and side effects, translating complex terminology into clear understanding. Educate patients/families/caregivers on non‑medicinal follow‑up measures such as diet, exercise, disease prevention, and lifestyle changes. Prepare patients and families for future self‑management. Qualifications Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date. NIH Stroke Scale must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date. Registered Nurse (RN) license required. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Instructor or equivalent must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date. Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (TNCC) or equivalent must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date. Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. One year of related experience.
