About the Role
The Company is in search of an Executive Director for its Center for Health and the Social Sciences (CHeSS). The successful candidate will be responsible for leading all areas of the Center, including grants and administration, the Methods Core, training, and research program areas. This role involves overseeing the Center's functional areas, providing leadership to managers and professional staff, and developing new collaborations. The Executive Director will also be tasked with meeting organizational programmatic, fiduciary, and reporting responsibilities, representing the Center within the University, and managing the dissemination and application of program policies. A key aspect of the position is to build and lead an effective team, manage employees, and ensure the Center's goals are accomplished. Applicants for the Executive Director position at CHeSS should have a minimum of a college or university degree in a related field, with a preference for a Master's in public policy, health services research, or a related area. The ideal candidate will have at least 7 years' of work experience in a related job discipline, with a background in health services research or university administration. Essential skills include excellent communication, the ability to facilitate group decision-making, and the capacity to manage multiple projects and priorities. The role requires a motivated individual with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, and who is adept at providing senior mentorship to staff and trainees. Experience in collaborating on NIH-funded projects and managing a recharge center is also preferred.
