Carpentry work including lock set repair, wall damage repair‑patch and paint, repair of window systems, and door system adjustments. Mechanical work including equipment readings, pneumatic tube repair/cleaning, testing of emergency generators, and emergency lights/batteries. Minor non‑licensed electrical repair of outlets, switches, door magnets, lights, and ballasts. Minor plumbing repair of faucets and shower valves. Test sealing penetrations of fire walls & smoke compartments. Test fire sprinkler/riser system and shut‑off procedure. Repair fans, mixing boxes, dampers, cooling towers, air handlers, VAV boxes, belt change‑outs, coil cleaning, compressors, and vacuum pumps. Complete required after‑hours on‑call rotation. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities Demonstrated knowledge of hot water systems, boiler theory and function, and chiller system theory. Demonstrated knowledge of Fire Barrier theory and NFPA requirements for sealing penetrations, fire alarm systems theory and testing. Demonstrated knowledge of medical gasses control and isolation valve theory. Demonstrated knowledge of CMS function and theory for life safety. Proficiency in basic computer functions. Ability to read blueprints. Ability to participate in after‑hours on‑call rotation. Strong interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work independently or in a group. Ability to follow specific directions. Ability to read, write, speak and understand English. Qualifications Required Three (3) years of hands‑on, building related maintenance and repair experience in one or more of the following areas: pipefitting, HVACR, steam‑operated systems used for humidification and sterilization, pneumatic and electronic building control systems (BAC), plumbing systems, commercial or industrial laundry equipment, sterilizing equipment, gas or diesel engines and generators, kitchen and cafeteria equipment, mechanical and electrical systems, carpentry, troubleshooting, or welding and fabrication. At least one of the following accepted certifications or licensures: professional trade license (plumbing, electrical, etc.), professional trade certifications (HVAC, contractor, MedGas, OSHA, building operator, firestopping, emergency power, ASHE Certified Health Care Physical Environment Worker, etc.), or another potentially applicable certification or license pre‑approved by F&E leadership. Depending upon department of hire, a valid State of Utah Driver's License may be required. Preferred Healthcare related maintenance and repair experience. Working Conditions and Physical Demands Employee must be able to meet the following requirements with or without an accommodation.
