Bus Fueler - $3,500 Sign on Bonus!

Description

The primary function of the Bus Fueler is to provide routine fueling and exterior cleaning of all Agency vehicles in a safe manner. Furthermore, the position supports ACT's purpose and objectives by respecting and adhering to all policies and procedures of the Agency.

Essential Functions include but are not limited to:

• Fuels and checks engine oil level of Agency vehicles daily.
• Drives vehicles from assigned parking area to the fuel and wash buildings; returning them to assigned parking when finished.
• Performs routine tasks associated with fueling (e.g., entering bus number, mileage, and fueler ID into an automated tracking system).
• Drives vehicle through automated wash bay to clean exterior.
• Cleans and washes exterior of vehicles as directed.
• Removes full deposit fare boxes and replaces with empty fare boxes.
• Removes large debris from interior of vehicles.
• Inspects vehicles for body damage, flat or damaged tires, and inoperable lights notifying Night Supervisor when maintenance is needed.
• Cleans vehicle wheels by hand with a scrub brush when needed.
• Cleans vehicle windshields by hand when needed.
• Keeps his/her workplace clean and safe.
• Be aware of the potential safety and security factors throughout the transit facility and follow all applicable policies and procedures of the Agency. Responsible to report any known or potential safety and/or security factors immediately to an appropriate supervisor, including any employee not following the policies and/or safety procedures.
• Attends work regularly.

Nonessential Functions

• Assists cleaning crew in cleaning interior of vehicles as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School education or equivalent.
• Must have experience in reading odometers, hubometers and following written instructions.
• Possess knowledge of proper safety precautions and use of safety equipment.
• Clean and neat appearance.
• Possess valid driver's license.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Normal working conditions for this position are typical of an outside environment. The position is exposed to high noise levels, oil, grease, fuels and all types of weather conditions. Capacity to work beyond standard hours when needed to address fueling needs.

Physical requirements of the position include full range of motion in all extremities. Possess the ability to lift and maneuver objects weighing up to 43 pounds (e.g., a 5 gallon mop bucket full of water). Must be able to walk at least one mile and work standing on feet. Must be able to pass Department of Transportation physical exam and drug screen.
