Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized step-down care for patients with seizure disorders, strokes, syncope, dizziness, altered mental status, GI bleeds, pneumonia, sepsis, and cardiac or renal conditions requiring inotropic therapy
• Perform strong neurological assessments and manage common drips including Cardizem, amiodarone, heparin-based weight drips, dobutamine, and insulin
• Perform peripheral IV starts and manage IV therapy using Alaris pumps
• Float to same-level-of-care stepdown units as needed
• Document and chart using Cerner EMR
• Adhere to weekend and holiday rotation requirements (every 3rd weekend, every other holiday)

• Valid Ohio RN license or compact license
• AHA BLS certification
• NIHSS certification
• Valid driver's license
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience
• Candidates residing within 30 miles of the facility may be subject to a reduced bill rate

• Prior experience in a PCU, IMC, or stepdown unit setting
• Familiarity with Cerner charting, Alaris IV pumps, and Omnicell medication dispensing systems
• Experience managing patients on inotropic or cardiac drip therapy
• Comfort with neuro-focused patient populations including stroke and seizure diagnoses

• Work within a well-supported unit environment that includes charge RN coverage, PCTs, an IV team, respiratory therapy, case management, and hospitalist support
• Structured orientation program designed to set travelers up for success before independent practice begins
