We are seeking a Data Engineer – Mid for this remote job USA / work from home position to support the design, development, and maintenance of cloud-based data pipelines, ETL processes, and data ingestion frameworks for FEMA’s data analytics platforms. This is a 100% remote, WFH job open to candidates anywhere in the United States, with compensation ranging from $115,000–$135,000/year based on experience and qualifications. Key Responsibilities Architect and optimize complex data ingestion and transformation pipelines Lead data modeling, partitioning, and performance tuning Ensure FISMA/FedRAMP-compliant security and data governance Support analytics, AI/ML teams, and cross-program data initiatives Oversee automation, code reviews, and DevSecOps integration Get Database Tools At least 3+ years of relevant working experience in a similar role Deep experience with distributed computing (Spark, EMR, Databricks) Advanced SQL, Python, and cloud data tooling Familiarity with DHS data governance and security standards Bachelor’s degree in a related field Clearance Requirements Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance Active Public Trust preferred — FEMA Public Trust highly preferred What SHR Offers Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications Comprehensive benefits: health, dental, and retirement plans with company match Paid time off and federal holidays Where This Remote Job Is Available This work from home job is open to candidates nationwide.
