Wire Rope Fabricator

Position Overview Assembler/Fabricers accurately identify different diameters, constructions, and best possible applications for an array of products used in industries such as construction, energy, mining, crane operation, space and aeronautical, and deep-sea recovery. Key Responsibilities Review, interpret drawings, blueprints, and capacity tables Understand codes and specifications outlined on order tickets Calculate wire-rope cut lengths, fitting requirements, and identify appropriate equipment to produce wire or synthetic rope and chain assemblies Splice wire rope and fabricate chain slings Operate industrial swaging machines, proof-testing machines, and forklifts Attach proper tags and labels to products Maintain inventory records Report defective or substandard material or product Handle shipping and receiving of goods Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow safety guidelines Assist with deliveries when required Required Skills & Abilities Familiarity with industrial tools such as cutting machines, swagers, crimping tools, and winches (preferred) Proficient in mathematics and reading Strong time-management skills Accurate reading of tape measures or digital micrometers Minimum age 18 years Persistent, energetic, and reliable Other Requirements Pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and criminal background check Provide valid documentation proving citizenship for I-9 compliance Professional and courteous attitude Report to work at designated start time Willing to travel to work sites or attend training as required Willing to work overtime, nights, and weekends when necessary Strict adherence to safety requirements, procedures, and company "Stop Work" policy Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as directed Work in a team environment and assist co-workers and supervisors with additional duties Education & Experience Prior experience in construction, equipment, or oil industry (preferred) Strong mathematics and reading skills Effective time-management Accurate measurement reading Minimum age 18 years Persistent, energetic, and reliable Working Conditions, Hours & Travel Warehouse environment Full-time position: Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week Minimal travel; occasional travel for training Physical Requirements Significant physical effort and stamina required for mechanical tasks Lift up to 75 lbs routinely Clear vision (corrected or uncorrected) required; precise hand-eye coordination essential Use abdominal and lower-back muscles to support body for extended periods Perform bending, stretching, twisting, and reaching motions Control fine motor skills for accurate assembly Stand for extended periods; walk, bend, and stand during shifts Frequent bending or crouching to work on machinery or fit wire ropes Exposure to extreme heat or cold in warehouse or outdoor environments Must hear warnings and communicate over industrial noise May encounter grease or metallic dust The physical demands described above are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
