Facilities Data Specialist

Facilities Data Specialist Department: FMD-Engineering-Facilities. Employment Type: Full Time Employee. Salary: $50,000-60,000. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM (with occasional night or weekend work). Position open until filled. Position Summary: This position assists in collecting, maintaining, analyzing, and distributing data related to buildings and other facilities associated with the University of Georgia. The data supports administrative reporting, space utilization analysis, and facility‑related policy development. Key Responsibilities Update departmental occupancy, room use, and program classification using Postsecondary Education Facilities Inventory and Classification Manual (FICM) standards for building, room, and other fields. Update building and room square footage; audit data in AiM for accuracy. Correct data errors in AiM and Oracle tables; manage review and correction of data discrepancies. Prepare prescribed Facility Inventory data to be sent to the Board of Regents. Determine new building numbers and identify buildings. Verify project data, review addresses, and coordinate with ACC for new buildings. Manage Facilities Inventory data and coordinate floor plans; prepare reports of all buildings by name, number, and address. Compile Facility Inventory data for peer institution comparison per survey requirements. Provide departmental reports with requested information regarding buildings or rooms. Update building floor plans using AutoCAD (site visits, measuring changes, maintaining drawings, linking floor plans with AiMCAD); update and maintain Emergency Response PDFs; use AutoCAD for square footage; update ArcGIS maps. Contact satellite campuses, Cooperative Extension offices, UGA departments, and other sources for corrections or additions. Contact and visit experiment stations and other facilities to update the database; may require travel to off‑site locations. Maintain virtual plans room: organize, name, convert files to PDF, file all electronic documents; assist customers with locating, scanning, copying, and printing documents. Perform any other required duties as assigned. Qualifications Baccalaureate degree in a related field. Preferred: Experience with Computer Aided Facility Management (CAFM) software (Assetworks AIM). Familiarity with FICM standards, Oracle. Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, ArcGIS software. Ability to write SQL and/or Python code. Ability to read construction drawings and construction closeout documents. Knowledge of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire protection). Work Conditions and Physical Demands Walk, stand, stoop, bend, climb stairs, climb ladders, sit. Work at a computer for up to 8 hours daily. Ability to lift 25 pounds.
