Our Foundation Sharyland Water Supply Corporation was established in May of 1968 for the purpose of providing safe, affordable drinking water to the rural communities in and around Mission, McAllen, and Edinburg. We continue to strive in that endeavor. Sharyland Water Supply Corporation was created by a group of determined, community-minded men in the 1960’s. With the help of Farmers Home Administration, a loan was acquired and construction began to build a rural water system. Initially, 700 property owners committed to take water service once construction was complete. Today, more than 50 years later, there are over 19,000 water connections on the system. The Corporation has approximately 100 square miles of Certified Area, 800 miles of water lines, three water plants, four elevated storage tanks and plans for additional water system improvements in the works. The Corporation has over 100 employees and a 7 person Board of Directors, all of whom are dedicated to the job required to ensure that Sharyland Water Supply Corporation continues to be the best it can be. Scope of the Role As a Construction Foreman, you’ll provide mid-level, field-based leadership that protects schedule, quality, and safety across SWSC capital work - subdivisions, plant and building improvements, and distribution system projects. This role exists to drive outcomes through disciplined contractor oversight and tight coordination from plan review through closeout. Key responsibilities include: contractor/subcontractor oversight verifying work meets design and SWSC specifications tracking progress, performance, deadlines, and contractual obligations managing and verifying field-driven scope/schedule/cost changes maintaining project documentation, daily resource reports, and redlines for as-builts coordinating GIS updates reviewing subdivision plats and construction plans supporting right-of-way/easement research, permits, and title issues Required qualifications/skills: Ability to develop diagrams, reports, and process maps for clear status updates Technical/administrative review of consultant deliverables and complex project plans Understanding of metes & bounds and legal property descriptions; ability to generally locate in field Strong safety compliance; ability to follow oral and written instructions Total Rewards Competitive salary; Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage; 401(k); Life Insurance; Paid Time Off; and Supplemental Insurance options. How Your Day Flows You start with a quick review of active work fronts and overnight notes, then align with contractors on the day’s priorities and constraints. Mid-morning is spent walking sites, confirming progress against plans, and documenting what’s changing in real time. You’ll pivot between field conversations and desk work - updating logs, assembling clean documentation, and preparing clear status snapshots for leadership. As questions surface, you coordinate with engineering and GIS to keep records current and decisions moving. Before wrapping up, you reconcile materials/equipment/labor reporting, capture redlines for as-builts, and set the next day’s targets so crews can execute without surprises. #J-18808-Ljbffr EmergencyMD
