Staffing Coordinator

Location Detail : Windham Community Memorial (10183) Shift Detail : 40hr staffing coordinator position, working with the inpatient nursing team. No weekends, no holidays. Job Summary This position is responsible for coordinating, scheduling, and oversight of staffing for all of Patient Care Services. Responsible for ensuring adequate staffing of 7 units (over 240 employees), identifying if appropriate resources are available to provide safe staffing and making recommendations to the PCS leadership team. Understand staffing requirements of the hospital, anticipate over/understaffed situations and coordinate appropriate remedy with minimal supervision Have a thorough understanding of two separate collective bargaining agreements, applying both contracts to meet staffing requirements Partner with Nurse Managers/Supervisors/PCS Leadership to forecast and anticipate future staffing needs, ensuring that off-shift and weekend staffing is appropriate and communicated Respond to calls from staff, continuously assess the needs of the hospital to ensure the appropriate number of resources are available to safely provide care Use Kronos for scheduling and payroll applications, applying pay-rules correctly, ensuring schedules and time worked are accurately coded and ready for manager approval Assist unit managers with attendance monitoring and provide bi-weekly reports on punctuality Qualifications Minimum Requirements Education: High School Diploma required Experience: 1 year in a healthcare field requiring staff scheduling or appointments. Prior experience with Kronos preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Proficient use of computer programs (Microsoft Office), Outlook email and multiple scheduling/payroll applications Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal direct supervision High level of interpersonal skills, excellent communication, and the ability to interact successfully on the telephone, understand and apply contract language #J-18808-Ljbffr
