Overview Valley Hospital Medical Center has served the community since 1972, offering 306 acute care beds, including a 48‑bed behavioral health unit, in the heart of the Las Vegas Medical District. As a teaching hospital it provides graduate medical education, a new pharmacy residency program, and over 600 multidisciplinary clerkships and internships annually. Responsibilities Assume shift responsibility and accountability for planning and providing direct and indirect nursing care to patients, families, care partners, and other appropriate parties. Coordinate multidisciplinary team members; direct and facilitate nursing staff to achieve safe, optimal health‑care outcomes. Support activities that align with the facility’s vision, mission, and goals. Provide professional leadership and support to the healthcare team, oversee and guide employees under your supervision. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN required Experience Minimum of one year full‑time or three years part‑time experience in acute care specialty nursing One to three years supervisory experience preferred Technical Skills Proficient in physical assessment of the cardiovascular patient and knowledgeable in cardiovascular anatomy and physiology Comfortable with 12‑lead EKG interpretation and cardiac arrhythmias Knowledgeable and experienced in stress testing (preferred) License / Certification Current RN license in the State of Nevada Current BLS certification ACLS, PALS, NRP and/or required specialty training or course completion (current upon hire) Other Must successfully pass any pre‑employment assessment(s) required by the facility Incumbents in this position as of March 1, 2023 with 20 years or more in the position will not require a bachelor’s degree EEO Statement All UHS subsidiaries are committed to providing an environment of mutual respect where equal employment opportunities are available to all applicants and teammates.
