Responsibilities

• Shared responsibility for system availability: You actively contribute to the availability, reliability, and efficiency of our complex system architecture consisting of approximately 70 servers at Hetzner.
• Maintenance and automation: You support the maintenance and automation of our existing infrastructure based on technologies like Ubuntu, Percona MySQL Cluster, MinIO, Elasticsearch, Redis, NGINX, HAProxy, TiDB, Clickhouse, and Kubernetes. You bring your ideas for optimization.
• Monitoring and analysis: You improve our monitoring strategies and conduct comprehensive error analyses. Your goal is to ensure that repeated errors are avoided and systems function optimally at all times.
• High availability: You are prepared to stand by in exceptional cases, even at night, to ensure our systems run smoothly. Your commitment to high availability is indispensable for us – you work hard to make such situations as rare as possible.
• Software development: Several years of experience in one or more programming languages (e.g., Rust, Java, Go, Typescript) is necessary.
• Automation: Good understanding of system automation and IT security. Practical experience with some of the following systems: MySQL, TiDB, Kubernetes, MinIO, and Elasticsearch.
• Language skills: You communicate negotiation-securely in German and have good English skills.
• Personal qualities: Good analytical skills, coupled with strong communication and presentation skills.
• Passion: Experience in contributing to open-source technologies is desirable.

Qualification

• Software development: Several years of experience in one or more programming languages (e.g., Rust, Java, or Go) is necessary.
• Automation: Good understanding of system automation and IT security.
• Systems: Practical experience with some of the following systems: MySQL, Kubernetes, MinIO, and Elasticsearch.
• Language skills: You communicate securely in German and have good English skills.
• Personal qualities: Good analytical skills, coupled with strong communication and presentation skills.
• Passion: Experience in contributing to open-source technologies is desirable.
