Position Summary

The Operations Manager is responsible for leading the daily operations of a fast-paced food manufacturing and warehouse facility specializing in snack foods, including bagging, packaging, warehousing, inventory control, and shipping. This position ensures all departments operate safely, efficiently, and meet production, quality, and customer service expectations.

Essential Responsibilities

Lead all daily manufacturing and warehouse operations.

Supervise Production Supervisors, Warehouse Supervisors, and hourly employees.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, efficiency, waste reduction, and cost savings.

Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining the highest quality standards.

Monitor KPIs including:

Production output

Labor efficiency

Downtime

Waste/Scrap

On-time shipping

Inventory accuracy

Safety performance

Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, SQF, OSHA, FDA, and all food safety requirements.

Partner with Maintenance to minimize equipment downtime.

Coordinate closely with Quality Assurance to maintain product quality standards.

Develop staffing plans and manage labor costs.

Coach, mentor, and develop supervisors and employees.

Conduct performance evaluations and disciplinary actions when necessary.

Maintain inventory accuracy and warehouse organization.

Oversee receiving, storage, production flow, and shipping operations.

Investigate production issues and implement corrective actions.

Prepare operational reports for senior leadership.

Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field (preferred).

5–10 years of manufacturing leadership experience.

Minimum 3 years managing supervisors in a manufacturing environment.

Food manufacturing experience strongly preferred.

Experience with:

Lean Manufacturing

Six Sigma (preferred)

Continuous Improvement

ERP systems

Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)

Strong leadership and decision-making skills.

Excellent communication and organizational abilities.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).

Ability to analyze production data and improve operational performance.
