Skill Sets:

• Demonstrate good oral and written communication.
• Maintain a supportive and encouraging working relationship with supervisors, leaders, and clients.
• Must have basic computer skills. Demonstrate a non-judgmental and non-biased disposition towards clients.
• Be able to provide a structured environment within the facility.

Job Responsibilities:

• Complete and maintain accurate records or reports regarding the clients' histories and progress, services provided, or other required information.
• Write reports or evaluations and enter them into the Kipu system.
• Maintain client records.
• Counsel clients, individually or in group sessions, to assist in overcoming substance abuse dependencies, adjusting to life, and making changes.
• Interview clients, review records, and confer with other professionals to evaluate individuals' mental and physical condition and to determine their suitability for participation in a specific Residential/IOP/OP/SOP or After Care program.
• Develop client treatment plans based on research, clinical experience, and client histories.
• Review and evaluate clients’ progress in relation to measurable goals described in treatment and care plans.
• Monitor clients to evaluate treatment progress.
• Intervene as an advocate for clients to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations.
• Intervene in crisis situations to assist clients.
• Provide clients or family members with information about addiction issues and about available services or programs, making appropriate referrals when necessary.
• Refer clients to community or social service programs.
• Act as liaisons between clients and medical staff.
• Advocate for individual or community needs.
• Counsel family members to assist them in understanding, dealing with, and supporting clients.
• Confer with family members or others close to clients to keep them informed of treatment planning and progress.
• Conduct Individual, Group, and Collateral services to clients of SPARC Recovery.
• Ensures timely completion of all required documentation for medical records and billing purposes.
• Communicates with managed care case review staff and other third-party payers for coordination and authorization of treatment as needed.
• Consults as needed with administrative and/or clinical supervisors regarding clinical issues, policy, and procedures.
