Registered Nurse (RN) - PACU

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for providing high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the PACU, including assessment, monitoring, and intervention.
Ensure patient safety and comfort during the recovery process from anesthesia.
Collaborate with the surgical team and other healthcare professionals to deliver optimal care.
Educate patients and families on post-operative care and recovery processes.
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.

Position Details

Department: PACU
Shift: Four 10-hour day shifts per week (Monday through Thursday)
Call Requirements: Expected to cover four call shifts per month, including one weekend
Patient Ratios: Typically 1:1
Equipment: Space Labs monitors in use
EHR System: Paragon

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
Minimum of two years of experience in a PACU or similar setting.
Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS.
Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Unit Information

Number of Beds: 6
Patient Population: Primarily adult patients with occasional pediatric cases.

This role offers an opportunity to work in a supportive environment while delivering exceptional care to patients during their recovery phase. We provide scrubs as part of the dress code.
