Surgical Technologist – Surgical Services

Schedule

12-hour shifts with day and evening rotations. Start times are 7 AM for day shift, and 9 AM and 11 AM for evening shifts. Every third weekend as needed and every other holiday. On-call duty once per schedule.

Assignment Details

Contract length: 13 weeks. Guaranteed hours: 36 per week.

Requirements

• 2+ years of inpatient operating room experience; level 1 trauma preferred.
• Scrub experience required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Competent in at least 5 of the following services: general, gynecological, genitourinary, oral, otolaryngological, bariatrics, orthopedic, neurological, vascular, thoracic, cardiac, plastics, podiatry, robotics, pediatrics, trauma, spine.

Responsibilities

• Assist in surgical procedures by preparing and maintaining the sterile field.
• Handle and pass instruments to the surgeon and surgical team.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team during procedures.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment in the operating room.
• Participate in the education and training of new staff and students.
