Underwriter

FARM Inc is looking for an experienced Crop Insurance Underwriter to join our team in Tempe, Arizona. POSITION SUMMARY: Perform activities related to Crop Insurance Policies, new and existing, providing excellent customer service. Accept or make changes to crop insurance policies for new and renewal applications according to Risk Management Agency (RMA), industry, state regulatory and company procedures. Perform data entry and processing of Application/Change Forms, Production Reports, Acreage Reports and mapping. Assist is gathering claim information to send to adjustors. Review reported policy information and compare to final Schedule of Insurance for accuracy of coverage, production, acres, plant dates and entity information per RMA and company procedures. Review policy information to assure accuracy and compliance with RMA standards. Prepare quotes for existing and prospective insureds. Utilize various resources to research and answer crop policy questions from agents, insureds, and adjusters. Attend company and industry training sessions as directed. Handle policy transfers from other AIP’s and/or agents. Store policy documents in accordance with company and RMA standards. RELATIONSHIPS: Will work closely with agents, customers and other staff to provide the utmost care and customer service. EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING REQUIRED: Requires high school diploma or equivalent and experience in underwriting/administration. EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED: This position requires excellent research and organizational skills as well as the ability to work to tight deadlines and in a small office environment. The candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to perform various mathematical computations. Requires Microsoft Office experience and the ability to learn proprietary software. Some overtime will be needed at times. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE DESIRED: Agriculture related experience and or degree preferred, Underwriting and/or insurance industry experience preferred. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Position requires sitting at a computer/desk for extended periods of time performing data entry using computer.
