Newark Midlevel Commercial Disputes Associate

Job Summary At K&L Gates, we are looking for smart, imaginative, and hard‑working people with diverse backgrounds to join our Commercial Disputes practice in Newark. The role is for a mid‑level associate with 3–5 years of experience in general commercial litigation, multi‑district litigation, or class actions in state and federal courts. Responsibilities Conduct independent research on complex litigation matters. Draft substantive pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents. Organize, conduct, and manage discovery, including e‑discovery. Collaborate with senior attorneys and provide client contact under mentorship. Assume increasing levels of responsibility and client interaction over time. Qualifications J.D. from an accredited law school. Admitted to the New Jersey Bar or eligible to sit for the exam. 3–5 years of experience in commercial litigation, multidistrict litigation, or class actions. Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent research, writing, and communication skills. Strong academic credentials and commitment to high‑quality client service. Compensation Base salary: $215,000 – $255,000 per year. The final salary will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on experience, expertise, and market factors.
