Our ideal applicant has experience TIG welding stainless steel and aluminum, as well as experience with MIG welding processes and various grinding tools. You must be able to read blueprints or technical schematics. We expect our team members to have strong attention to detail in order to ensure the quality of each weld and the safety of the workplace.Duties/ResponsibilitiesUse gas tungsten arc equipment as part of the fabrication processInstall or repair metal componentsUse grinding equipment in the cleaning processFollow blueprints or technical schematicsEnsure compliance with established health/safety policies and regulationsCarry out grinding and thermal cutting operations to obtain various textures and sizes for metal partsOversee the set-up of TIG welding equipmentOperate power and hand tools such as arc welders, buffing machine, and scrapersMaintain good working knowledge of the welding characteristics of metals such as stainless steel, aluminum, and titaniumRead and interpret welding blueprints, schematics, and codesEnsure welding operations meet set specifications and construction requirementsOversee the training and mentoring of new and trainee TIG weldersPerform TIG welding on materials such as fiberglass, iron, plastic, and copperConduct radiographic and bend tests to verify the quality of weld.Education & Required SkillsHigh school diploma or GED certificateCompletion of technical training or apprenticeshipAttention to detailKnowledge of both TIG and MIG welding preferredWelding certification preferred
