Scrum Lead & Project Manager – USD Correspondent Banking & Payments Pod

We are seeking an experienced Scrum Lead & Project Manager to support a high-performing USD Correspondent Banking & Payments Pod . This role will lead the successful delivery of complex payment initiatives, ensuring alignment between business objectives, regulatory requirements, and technology execution across cross-functional teams.

The ideal candidate will serve as both a Scrum Master and Project Manager , bringing deep expertise in payments, banking systems, Agile delivery, and stakeholder management. This individual will drive delivery excellence while navigating a fast-paced, highly regulated, and business-critical environment.

Key Responsibilities

Project & Delivery Management

• Plan, develop, and manage complex payment initiatives across multiple teams, ensuring scope, schedule, budget, quality, and regulatory objectives are achieved.
• Coordinate and manage dependencies across payment platforms, banking systems, APIs, integration teams, operations, and business stakeholders.
• ️ Own and maintain project plans, delivery roadmaps, risk registers, and milestone tracking.
• ⚠️ Proactively identify risks, blockers, and dependencies; develop mitigation strategies and escalate issues when necessary.
• Provide clear project visibility through dashboards, reporting, metrics, and executive-level status updates.
• Drive delivery commitments while maintaining operational stability and compliance standards.

Agile & Scrum Leadership

• Serve as Scrum Master for one or more Agile teams, ensuring effective adoption of Scrum principles and Agile best practices.
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including:
• Sprint Planning
• Daily Stand-Ups
• Sprint Reviews
• Retrospectives
• PI Planning (where applicable)
• Coach teams and stakeholders on Agile methodologies, continuous improvement, and delivery discipline.
• ⚖️ Balance Agile execution with project governance, regulatory oversight, and business delivery expectations.
• Foster accountability, transparency, ownership, and a results-driven team culture.

Payments & Banking Domain Leadership

• Support strategic initiatives within USD Correspondent Banking and Payments operations.
• Leverage deep understanding of:
• Payment Processing Systems
• Correspondent Banking
• Banking APIs
• Cross-Border Payments
• Real-Time Payments
• Digital Assets & Cryptocurrencies
• Financial Messaging & Settlement Processes
• Ensure initiatives align with banking regulations, operational controls, and compliance requirements.
• Partner with business, operations, risk, compliance, and technology teams to deliver secure and efficient payment solutions.
• Understand and manage the downstream impacts of payment platform changes across clients, operations, and internal systems.

Stakeholder & Communication Management

• Serve as the primary liaison between engineering teams, product management, operations, compliance, risk, and executive stakeholders.
• Effectively manage communication with senior leaders, technical teams, and business partners.
• Translate strategic business objectives into actionable delivery plans and measurable outcomes.
• Drive alignment, prioritization, and decision-making in complex or high-pressure environments.
• Provide transparent communication regarding project status, risks, dependencies, and delivery milestones.

⚙️ Execution & Operational Support

• Coordinate internal and external dependencies, including integration partners, vendors, operations teams, and regulatory stakeholders.
• Ensure development, testing, integration, deployment, and release activities remain aligned across teams.
• Support operational readiness, production stability, and successful implementation of payment initiatives.
• Drive continuous improvement efforts that enhance delivery efficiency and team effectiveness.
• Perform additional duties as needed to ensure project and program success.

Qualifications

• ✔️ 10+ years of experience as a Scrum Master , Project Manager , or hybrid Scrum Lead/PM within the payments or banking industry.
• Strong knowledge of:
• Payment Systems
• USD Correspondent Banking
• Banking APIs
• Digital Assets & Cryptocurrencies
• Financial Services Operations
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM), PMI-ACP, SAFe, or equivalent Agile certification required.
• Exceptional communication, facilitation, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver complex initiatives in highly regulated environments.

Compensation

Salary Range: $90,000 – $110,000 per year
