Get to Know Your Team Heart Hospital of New Mexico at Lovelace Medical Center is New Mexico’s only hospital dedicated exclusively to cardiovascular care, including the state’s only facility performing left ventricular aortic device (LVAD) implant and a state‑of‑the‑art hybrid operating room. Learn About a Day in the Life of a PCT Responsibilities Works under moderate supervision of nursing and medical staff to perform all duties of a PCT, which include assisting patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs. Observe patients’ progress to prepare and disseminate reports to Registered Nurses or other medical staff. Obtains and records patients’ vital signs and collects specimens for lab tests. Provide basic patient transport and housekeeping duties. Additionally, this position measures and records patients’ intake and output and other measurements in accordance with unit routines, assists patients with range of motion, and draws blood. Qualifications Job Requirements: High School Diploma or GED. BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care. Preferred Job Requirements: Completion of approved CNA, PCT, or paramedic (EMT-P) certification, which includes BLS, or currently enrolled in nursing school. Two (2) years’ experience in acute or long‑term care. Experience in Phlebotomy or completion of a Phlebotomy course. Proficiency in phlebotomy. Medical Terminology Knowledge. #J-18808-Ljbffr
