Boston Children’s Health Physicians (BCHP) Pediatric Infusion Center Certified Clinical Medical Assistant

BCHP is actively seeking a Full Time Certified Clinical Medical Assistant to join our Pediatric Infusion Center in Hawthorne, NY!

Qualifications:

• Candidates must have a National Medical Assistant Certification to be considered for this opportunity
• Previous Pediatric Medical Assistant experience is required

Schedule:

• This position's schedule will be Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm

Day to Day Responsibilities:

• Obtains patients vital signs, height and weight
• Prepares patient exam and treatment rooms, maintaining adequate stock
• Performs phlebotomy and urinalysis as necessary, identifies and labels specimens accordingly
• Prepares samples for laboratory, completing all necessary paperwork
• Transports samples and blood products to and from laboratory and blood bank when necessary
• Maintains clean and sterilized equipment, instruments, and work area following safety, cleanliness and infection control procedures
• Logs in lab results and ensures results are incorporated into patient charts
• Orders, receives and inventories necessary supplies
• Maintains strictest confidentiality in accordance with Pediatric Infusion Center and BCHP policy and HIPAA regulations
• Checks and empties Biohazard containers as per OSHA guidelines
• Assists with documentation of laboratory values and other pertinent clinical patient findings
• Supports front desk staff with answering phone calls, faxing, scanning documents into the EMR
• Performs and documents daily equipment quality control
• Provides excellent verbal and written communication
• Able to multi-task and set priorities accordingly. 

The candidate selected may be requested to perform other duties as necessary to ensure the smooth functioning of the office.

Pay

• The pay range of this position will be $25/hr-$30/hr, negotiable depending on level experience and certifications

The ideal candidate will have:

• A   National Medical Assistant Certification and BLS certification required
• A High School diploma or equivalent, Bachelor Degree preferred
• 1 to 2 years prior experience in pediatrics preferred
