Job Description:

Amplify is seeking part-time Leadership Consultants with experience leading instructional improvement, curriculum implementation, organizational change, and district strategy. Leadership Consultants partner with district leaders to translate ambitious goals into practical decisions, implementation plans, and sustained action that improves outcomes for educators and students.

This role is an opportunity for experienced education leaders, strategy consultants, implementation experts, and senior professional learning leaders to serve as trusted thought partners to district leadership teams. Leadership Consultants bring strategic perspective, instructional expertise, facilitation skill, and the ability to navigate complex systems with credibility and care.

Essential Responsibilities :

Leadership Consultants will lead high-value engagements with district leaders, helping partners build the conditions for coherent, impactful and sustainable implementation.

In this role, you will:

• Advise district and school-system leaders on implementation strategy, instructional priorities, and organizational change related to Amplify CKLA 2nd Edition or 3rd Edition (PreK-5th grade), Amplify Desmos Math (K-12), or Amplify Science (PreK-8th grade)-.

• Facilitate executive-level working sessions that result in clear decisions, aligned direction, and defined next steps.

• Diagnose partner needs in real time and tailor recommendations to the district’s context, readiness, priorities, and constraints.

• Connect research-aligned instructional frameworks—including the Improvement Science, Change Management, Science of Reading, Science of Writing, and Multi-Tiered System of Supports—to implementation goals.

• Help leaders anticipate and address implementation barriers such as capacity building, stakeholder buy-in, competing initiatives, pacing, and sustainability.

• Use district-level data, including imperfect or incomplete data, to create urgency, focus priorities, and guide action planning.

• Connect professional learning and implementation support to system-wide goals, resource decisions, student outcomes, and short & long-term strategy.

• Navigate complex stakeholder dynamics with tact, political awareness, and attention to how decisions will be understood across the system.

• Provide practical tools, examples, and implementation guidance grounded in firsthand experience with schools, districts, or education systems.

• Prepare for engagements and complete related administrative deliverables accurately and on time.

• Participate in onboarding, calibration, coaching, and ongoing development to maintain consulting quality and deepen knowledge of Amplify’s programs and services.

• Represent Amplify with professionalism and build trusted, productive relationships with partners and internal teams.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in education, organizational leadership, public policy, business, or a related field.

• 10+ years in K–12 education, district or network leadership, instructional improvement, curriculum implementation, education consulting, or senior professional learning.

• Held leadership roles supporting implementation across multiple schools, a district, or another complex education system.

• Experience with change-management planning, implementation monitoring, continuous improvement, and systems-level coherence.

• Strong knowledge of research-aligned instructional practices and frameworks, such as the Science of Reading, Science of Writing, and/or Multi-Tiered System of Supports.

• Demonstrated ability to advise and communicate with senior district or school-system leaders as a credible, peer-level thought partner.

• Experience facilitating complex conversations that produce decisions, alignment, commitments, or actionable next steps.

• Ability to interpret data, identify meaningful implications, and connect evidence to priorities and actions.

• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with brevity, clarity, and precision.

• Demonstrated judgment, adaptability, and comfort navigating ambiguity, competing priorities, and sensitive stakeholder dynamics.

• Strong organizational skills and proficiency with technology-based productivity and collaboration tools, including Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and video-conferencing platforms.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced degree in education, organizational leadership, public policy, business, or a related field.

• Experience with full-cycle curriculum adoption, from selection and rollout through sustained implementation.

• Experience working with district cabinet members, superintendents, principals, instructional leadership teams, boards, or community stakeholders.

• Experience connecting instructional strategy to district goals such as student achievement, equitable access, budget priorities, and organizational capacity.

• Experience working across diverse school and district contexts and with communities serving varied student populations.

• Experience with Amplify products, programs, and professional learning offerings.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Time commitment : Leadership Consultants are scheduled on an as-needed basis. Engagements and schedules depend on customer demand and may include preparation, virtual meetings, onsite working sessions, travel, and follow-up deliverables. Specific dates, time commitments, and engagement requirements will be communicated based on partner needs. Hours aren’t guaranteed beyond onboarding and will vary week to week.

Location & Travel : Applicants must be authorized to work in the US, reside in the US, and possess a valid US driver’s license. If selected, you may be asked to deliver sessions throughout the country based on business needs. Candidates must live within 60 miles of a major metropolitan airport.

This role may involve remote and onsite work with district partners. Travel to customer locations is required and is considered an essential function of the job. Travel may include overnight hotel stays and transportation by car, plane, and/or public transportation, sometimes with minimal advanced notice. Consultants must be able to meet the travel and onsite requirements associated with assigned engagements.

All travel-related expenses for delivery are initially paid by the Leadership Consultant, including lodging and daily meals. Reimbursement for eligible travel expenses, including mileage when driving a personal vehicle and compensation for travel time, will be processed approximately 2–3 weeks following submission of the applicable expense reimbursement requests.

Compliance: Applicants are responsible for ensuring that participation as a Leadership Consultant complies with their school or district’s policies regarding outside employment, moonlighting, and conflicts of interest. Applicants should not work as a Leadership Consultant while simultaneously teaching and/or leading in a school or district when doing so would conflict with applicable policies.

Contract Employment: This role is part of Amplify’s part time contingent workforce. Contingent workers are hired on a temporary, contractual basis to provide specialized services and expertise. You will be employed by a staffing agency, not directly by Amplify. Opportunities to deliver leadership offerings are contingent upon business demand and require Consultants to remain in good standing based on overall performance, professionalism, and customer feedback.

Compensation : Leadership Consultants are compensated at different rates depending on the type of work performed:

• $750/day for delivering leadership development sessions

• $45/hour for session preparation and internal training

• $45/hour for travel time

• $40/hour for onboarding activities

Amplify sets compensation through a lens of equity and based on the requisite skills, education, and experience relevant to the role. Rates are non-negotiable in order to maintain equity.

• Ability to keep all travel points earned through flights and hotels booked for work-related travel

• Mileage reimbursement may be available for applicable travel
