Job Summary:

Preventive Plus P.A. has an immediate opening for a full-time Medical Technician as we expand our clinical staff to accommodate anticipated growth. We are seeking a qualified professional to join our clinical team as a Medical Technician. The ideal candidate will have four or more years of experience working as a Medical Technician, ideally in a high-volume clinical setting. Candidates with other relevant backgrounds who can successfully perform the responsibilities of the position are also encouraged to apply.

Required Clinical Duties and Responsibilities

The Medical Technician must be willing to perform the following clinical duties. Training will be provided where needed:

• Prepare patients for physical examinations, including obtaining and accurately documenting vital signs and performing required or ordered point-of-care screening tests.
• Perform DOT and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing, including specimen collection, completion of required collection documentation and CCFs, and proper handling and preparation of specimens for transport to the laboratory. 
• Assist medical providers during patient examinations, procedures, and treatments as requested.
• Perform phlebotomy, including proper labeling, handling, and processing of blood specimens. 
• Perform spirometry testing and accurately document test results. 
• Perform vision testing and accurately document test results. 
• Perform audiometric hearing testing using appropriate equipment and accurately document test results. 
• Perform EKG testing, including proper lead placement and documentation of test results.

Administrative and Operational Responsibilities

• Maintain adequate clinical and medical supplies; clean and maintain examination rooms and clinical equipment; and ensure examination rooms are properly stocked and ready for patient care.
• Perform front- and back-office duties associated with patient care, including accurate and timely documentation, scanning, uploading, and maintenance of patient records.

Professional and Compliance Responsibilities

• Protect patient health information (PHI) and other sensitive or confidential information in accordance with HIPAA, applicable federal and state requirements, and Preventive Plus policies and procedures.
• Follow all established safety and infection-control policies and procedures, including the proper use and disposal of personal protective equipment (PPE) and potentially contaminated materials.
• Provide patients with clear and accurate instructions and guidance related to examinations, testing, and procedures.
