About the Role/Unit:

A Registered Nurse with the Labor & Delivery unit at Sinai Hospital will

provide skilled, compassionate, and evidence-based care to patients throughout the full spectrum of the perinatal period in accordance with AWHONN standards and best practices. The nurse will work on a 23-bed unit that supports all levels of obstetrical care-including antepartum, intrapartum, high-risk labor, cesarean section, immediate postpartum recovery, and obstetrical emergencies. The Labor and Delivery nurse plays a critical role in ensuring safety, patient-centered outcomes for mothers and newborns.

*This position is eligible for a $10,000 Sign On Bonus.*

Key Responsibilities:

The nurse will conduct comprehensive maternal and fetal assessments, monitor vital signs, uterine activity, and fetal heart rate patterns, and recognize early signs of complications.

Care for patients with high-risk pregnancies on bedrest or undergoing treatment, and provide immediate postpartum recovery care including uterine assessment, pain control, newborn bonding, and breastfeeding support.

Participate in rapid response during obstetrical emergencies including shoulder dystocia, postpartum hemorrhage, hypertensive crisis, and fetal distress.

Requirements:

Education:

BSN preferred from CCNE accredited schools

Licensure:

Maryland Registered Nurse License

Certification:

American Heart Association BLS Certification; ACLS & NRP are required to be obtained prior to orientation completion

Experience:

At least 1 year of L&D experience is required
