Job Description Summary Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse II provides individualized, goal‑directed patient care to families and patients at a competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process; delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired results. Entity Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA) Worker Type & Status Employee – Regular Compensation & Hours Hourly – $30,000 sign‑on bonus for experienced nurses. 36 hours per week, 3 twelve‑hour shifts per week. Minimum Training and Education Associate degree in nursing (Bachelor’s degree preferred). At least one year of experience as a Registered Nurse. Licensure, Certifications, & Registrations Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required. Physical and Mental Requirements Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs (infrequent), working indoors and outdoors, from elevated areas, in confined spaces, kneeling, bending, twisting, squatting, pinching, gross motor and fine manipulation tasks, reaching overhead, repetitive hand and arm motions, use both legs, balance, coordination, and use all directions. Lifting and carrying: lift and carry 50 lbs. unassisted; lift and lower objects 50 lbs. from/to floor or 36 inches unassisted; lift from 36” to overhead 25 lbs.; exert up to 50 lbs. of force; move a 100 lb. patient requires 50 lbs. of force. Vision: 20/40 corrected vision in one or both eyes; ability to see and recognize objects at hand or distance; match or discriminate colors; determine distance and depth; good peripheral vision. Hearing: maintain hearing acuity with correction. Fine motor: perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements. Stress: cope effectively with stressful situations; work rotating shifts; work overtime as required; work in a latex‑safe environment; maintain tactile sensory functions; for selected positions, maintain good olfactory sensory function and qualify physically for respirator use.
