Details Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of a hospital environment Cardiac PCU setting treating myocardial infarction, rule-out MI, primary arrhythmias, pre/post open-heart and vascular surgery, coronary artery disease, heart failure, pre/post cath lab, and stroke patients with cardiac involvement Specialized structural heart support including VAD and TAVR patients Patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:4, with up to 1:5 at midnight Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours from 19:00 to 07:30 Every other weekend required Floating required to like units, including sister facilities within the state Uses Epic EMR Requirements Active WA or compact RN license required, in hand at time of consideration Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS Minimum 2 years of telemetry experience required, including surgical telemetry, open-heart surgery, and vascular (groin/radial band management) experience Prior travel nursing experience required Proficiency with Epic EMR required Skilled in IV therapy, central line and PICC line management, and phlebotomy Experience with cardiac drip management, dysrhythmia interpretation, and telemetry monitoring Experience with chest tubes, sternal precautions, and post open-heart surgery care VAD and TAVR experience preferred Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required Full SSN and DOB required for consideration Additional Information Provide direct care including breathing treatments, chest tube setup and care, CPAP/BiPAP, trach care, and sternal precaution management Administer blood and blood products, perform cardioversion/defibrillation, and manage epicardial pacers Monitor and interpret dysrhythmias, including remote and on-unit telemetry monitoring Care for LVAD and open-heart surgery patients in the 24-28 hour post-op period Must commit to working 3 of 5 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) All time off requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer requests may not be accommodated Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted location First-time travelers will not be considered for this position Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel pay rate; local candidates may be accepted at a lower rate Former permanent employees of this health system may return as travelers after a 3-month separation period, provided they reside outside the 50-mile radius American Traveler Job ID P-766407.
