Lifeguard Position
The lifeguard is responsible for promoting and maintaining the safety of patrons in the Natatorium.
The employee in this position will have the following essential job functions:
- Obtain and maintain the necessary skills and certifications to execute job responsibilities and requirements (Lifeguarding Certification and Jefferson County Board of Health Permit)
- Abide by and uphold the Health and Recreation Center policies and procedures
- Maintain physical health and mental awareness to perform Lifeguard tasks
- Participate in In-service training sessions
- Work Lifeguarding shifts as scheduled
- Supervise the activities in the natatorium area to promote and ensure safety
- Maintain proper pool chemical levels and test water chemistry each shift
- Participate in the cleaning and maintenance of the natatorium area
- Report maintenance and supply needs to the Aquatics Coordinator or Head-guard
Performs other duties as may be assigned by their supervisor.
The person in this position should have a Lifeguard certification. Paid Lifeguard Training is offered after hiring.
The person in this position is expected to swim sufficiently to perform the Lifeguard rescues.
