Relationship Banker

POSITION SUMMARY: A Relationship Banker provides services to existing and potential customers. This position primarily supports the loan function of the branch while also supporting the customer service function.Loan Support FunctionsAssist loan officers and loan staff with servicing loan files throughout the loan lifecycleSupport loan processing activities including:Inputting loan applications into applicable systems (e.g., LaserPro)Assigning loans for document preparationProcessing renewals and denied loan packages within regulatory timeframesTracking loan status using established checklistsPrepare loan files for closing by ensuring completion of approvals, documentation, and insurance requirementsCoordinate loan closings, including preparing tickets, distributing proceeds, and submitting completed files for review and bookingMaintain accuracy, completeness, and timeliness in all loan-related documentationPerform additional loan-related duties within scope as assignedCustomer Relationship & ServiceDevelop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers by providing prompt, professional, and courteous serviceIdentify customer needs and recommend appropriate banking products and servicesOpen new accounts and perform maintenance on existing accounts with accuracyProcess customer transactions, including wire transfers and other service requestsAssist customers with safe deposit box accessRespond to customer inquiries via phone and in personCollaborate with team members to achieve branch service and sales goalsBranch Operations SupportSupport overall branch operations by working efficiently with team members to meet customer needsProvide operational assistance and coverage across branch functions as neededMay provide guidance or support in the absence of branch leadership, depending on experience levelCompliance & Risk ManagementAdhere to all bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including BSA/AML complianceMaintain strict confidentiality of customer and company informationEnsure all transactions and documentation meet accuracy, quality, and regulatory standardsEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:High school diploma or general education degree (GED)EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:Previous experience with LoansTwo or more years of banking experienceBusiness degree from a technical school and/or collegeKnowledge of NuPoint, New Account Console, View email address on click.appcast.io, IMM, and ChexsystemsREQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:General knowledge in Microsoft programs Excel, Word and Outlook.Proficient at operating a computer, typing/word processing, ten key number pad, printer, fax machine, and copier.May require successful registration with, and issuance of a unique identification number from, the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) in compliance with the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 (S.A.F.E. Act).The interpersonal skills necessary to relate to and empathize with other people and to maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor through the day.Must possess superior organizational skills, communication skills and capable of making good judgments.Must have a professional appearance and manner at all times.Ability to travel to designated Synergy Bank locations as needed.Must be able to provide information to supervisors, co-workers, and customers both verbally and in written format.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Regular attendance is required.
