Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30) | 36 or 48 hours per week available

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-volume Labor and Delivery unit at a Level I Trauma, acute care teaching facility with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Perform and assist with procedures including C-section, cerclage, external/internal fetal monitoring, AROM, version, PPTL, and medically assisted deliveries
• Demonstrate proficiency in fetal heart monitoring (FHM) and circulator skills
• Float within scope to antepartum and postpartum units as needed to meet facility demands
• Participate in on-call requirements (12 hours over 4 weeks for 4x12 contracts; 24 hours over 4 weeks for 3x12 contracts)
• Utilize Cerner for all clinical documentation and charting

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (NM license may be pending at time of submission)
• Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience; experience in a large L&D unit or facility required
• Demonstrated experience with postpartum care, newborn nursing, and meconium deliveries
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required (NRP must be in hand at time of submission; RQI certifications not accepted)
• Non-local candidates only; must reside outside a 100-mile radius of the facility (non-local driver's license required on file)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with advanced L&D procedures such as massive transfusion protocol, malignant hyperthermia management, neonatal palliative care, nitrous oxide administration, and cesarean hysterectomy
• Familiarity with Cerner electronic health records
• Prior travel nursing experience in a comparable acute care setting
