Automotive Operations Manager

We are seeking a dynamic Operations Manager leads daily manufacturing Automotive Manufacturing Operations across production, assembly, shipping, scheduling, and inventory to ensure safe, efficient, and on-time execution. This role drives operational performance by improving throughput, reducing backlog, optimizing workflows, and leading continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

Lead daily manufacturing operations across multiple operational support teams.

Partner with Scheduling, Engineering, Quality, Inventory, and Sales to meet production goals and improve on-time delivery.

Improve throughput, labor utilization, WIP, shipment velocity, and overall manufacturing efficiency.

Lead, coach, and develop managers, supervisors, and production staff through performance management and workforce planning.

Track and analyze KPIs including throughput, backlog, RTFT, WIP, and production output.

Ensure compliance with safety, quality, SOPs, OSHA, and 5S standards.

Resolve production constraints and drive continuous process improvements with cross-functional teams.

Coordinate employee training and cross-training to improve workforce flexibility.

Support ERP reporting and production planning using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

Lead production meetings, communicate operational priorities, and escalate risks as needed.

Assist with facility operations, equipment planning, capacity planning, new product launches, and other operational initiatives.

Qualifications

5+ years of manufacturing operations leadership experience.

Experience leading production teams in a high-mix manufacturing environment preferred.

Strong understanding of production planning, labor management, inventory, and manufacturing KPIs.

Proven ability to identify bottlenecks, prioritize competing demands, and drive operational improvements.

Strong leadership, communication, conflict resolution.
Must be proficient with ERP systems & Microsoft Office.

Lean Manufacturing and OSHA training preferred; forklift certification a plus.

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
Occasional travel for training, vendor support, or operational needs.
