Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to identify clients' mental health needs, followed by the development of tailored treatment plans that reflect their unique circumstances.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and other modalities, to deliver effective individual, group, and family therapy sessions.

• Collaborate closely with case managers, psychiatrists, and multidisciplinary team members to ensure holistic care that appropriately addresses each client’s needs and treatment goals.

• Provide immediate crisis intervention and support during acute distress situations, displaying both exceptional empathy and professional judgment to stabilize clients effectively.

• Participate in community outreach programs to raise awareness about mental health issues and treatment options, aiming to destigmatize and promote mental health resources available to the community.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Mental Health Counselor at Emerson Counseling Services, you will work with a diverse range of clients who are navigating various mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma-related disorders, and substance use issues. Our clients come from various backgrounds, including different ethnicities, cultures, and socioeconomic statuses, providing a rich environment for enhancing your clinical skills and cultural competency.

Qualifications\n

• A current and independent license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) in the state of Washington.

• A completed Master’s degree or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to establish rapport and build trusting therapeutic relationships with clients.

• A demonstrated understanding of cultural competency principles and the ability to effectively work with diverse populations.

• Strong organizational and time-management skills, ensuring that all documentation is accurate, timely, and compliant with industry standards.

Preferred Experience\n

While not mandatory, candidates with prior experience in a detox or rehabilitation setting will be highly regarded, as this role involves working closely with clients undergoing significant life transitions and challenges. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems is also a plus, enhancing your efficiency in client management.

Compensation and Benefits\n
