Description

The Joseph "Eddie" Ballard Western Kentucky Veterans Center is a 156-bed long term care facility located in beautiful Hanson, Kentucky that is committed to serving Kentucky’s Veterans by fostering independence, preserving dignity and providing compassionate care.

We are currently seeking a motivated Registered Nurse to work in our nursing department as a Nurse Shift Program Supervisor. This position will supervise all nursing services and personnel of a specific unit.

Required to have an active, unrestricted and probated status as a Registered Nurse on the KBN licensure verification.

Skill and expectations for this position include but are not limited to:

• Supervises nursing services for an assigned unit

• Determines the level of nursing care to ensure resident care needs

• Documents employee evaluations, develops work assignments, monitors staffing levels and delegates responsibilities to other levels of nursing staff

• Supervises professional and ancillary employees in the administration of efficient nursing care

• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

EDUCATION:(See Special Requirements)

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS:Must have three years of experience as a Registered Nurse.

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE:A bachelor's degree in nursing will substitute for one year of the required experience.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.):Must be licensed in Kentucky as a registered nurse or possess a valid work permit issued by the Kentucky Board of Nursing. maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this job classification. Working Conditions

Work is typically performed in a hospital or institutional setting. May be exposed to patients with infectious diseases or hazards common to a hospital or institutional setting, which requires the following of safety procedures.

Probationary Period

This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
